This Album is dedicated to the
memory of my dear Mother, Gertie. She was my inspiration and my
best friend. She was an Irish woman before
her time. A "Fellow of the London Collage of Music", she brought me up
with a love and appreciation of all music gendres. Originally from
Kells in Co Meath (a Blacksmiths Daughter) she spent her teenage years travelling the world, playing piano for various theatre productions. The songs on this album were songs Mum liked to sing herself when at a party. She always wanted me to record them, but alas she passed away before the C.D was completed. The photo on the cover was taken on the Aran Island in 2004 when I took her ashes back to Co. Meath and scattered them on "The Blackwater" her favourite swimming spot as a young girl. I hope you enjoy these songs. |
